BRIDGE
This past summer BRIDGE served 29 youth from all over the San Gabriel Valley.
We were thrilled to have the following people on staff at this year's BRIDGE: Lui Amador, Co-Director, Human Relations; Rose Portillo, Co-Director, Artistic; Jenna Delgado, Facilitator; Elizabeth Rainey, Facilitator; Maria Solano, Resource Specialist & Facilitator; Lex Steppling, Facilitator; Amy Tien, Facilitator; Lloyd Wilkey, Facilitator; and the following Youth Leaders: Orlando Alonzo, Mallory Browne, Summer Burrows, Julia Fouser, Marina Lopez, Jared McCoy, and Ivonne Salazar.
Many thanks to all of those who joined us in celebrating and honoring the accomplishments of the youth participants by viewing their individual and group tile mosaic pieces, hearing their comments about participating in this unique program, and viewing the unveiling of the BRIDGE 2008 community piece mounted at the Sierra Madre Youth Activities Center on Sunday. We appreciate your support!

Special Projects
When our schedule permits, we love to take on special projects!
Recently, these have included two very successful residential human relations programs for Marlborough School in Los Angeles. Marlborough is an independent, urban day school for young women that ACTIVELY works on understanding and respecting differences. ENCOMPASS is proud to be part of that work.
We are also proud of a special collaboration with Cornerstone Theater Company LA's premiere multi-ethnic, ensemble-based theater company to deliver "Literature to Life", an educational theater program that brings powerful books to life on stage. Cornerstone presented a deeply moving stage adaptation of "Warriors Don't Cry," the memoir of Melba Patillo Beals, one of the Little Rock Nine. The play was followed by a post show discussion and activity, designed and facilitated by ENCOMPASS.
