Requirements

Duration
The Compassion Plays program can be delivered in a 90-minute block of time: approximately 20 minutes are spent in a pre-show discussion with the audience; each play is approximately 35 minutes in length; and the post show discussion lasts approximately 35 minutes.

In order to get the most value out of the program, a full 90-minute block of time is needed.

Space Requirements
The Compassion Plays productions have been designed and staged to work well in a variety of spaces, from small classrooms to fully-equipped theatres. In most situations, with enough notice, we can adapt the production to accomodate the space you have available. At minimum, the "stage" area should be no less than approximately 16 X 16 feet. We will need easy access to this area in order to set up the scenery and sound equipment. Stage lighting is not necessary. The room should be well-lit and there must be an electric outlet available for our use near the staging area. Seating should be arranged to allow audience participants an unobstructed view of the performance. (Of course, we're delighted to perform in fully-equipped theatre spaces with full stage lighting when they are available)

Time Line
We recommend that you submit a performance request as far in advance as possible, especially if you want a particular date. We understand that this is not always possible and we will do our best to accommodate last minute requests. We will carefully review the request you submit and respond to you within three working days. If the date is available and the necessary staff can schedule the performance, we will confirm the date.

Cancellations
Once a show is booked, the actor, facilitator and stage managers will turn down other engagements in order to honor your request. If you must cancel a performance, it is essential that you notify us as soon as possible so we can release them from their contracts. If you cancel with less than five working days notice, we have to charge you the full rate so we can pay the staff.

On rare occasions, we have to cancel a scheduled performance. If we cancel less than five working days prior to the event, we will reschedule the performance and will not charge you for either date.

Advertising
Once a performance has been confirmed, please contact us for a template flyer and/or poster to advertise the event.

Should you want to create your own advertising materials, please be sure to include the program name, title of the play, and the name of our organization.

For example: "The Associated Student Body is pleased to sponsor this performance of HORIZON LINE, presented by ENCOMPASS as part of the Compassion Plays program."
